Cordyline australis ‘Peko’ is another wonderful Cordyline with broad bright green leaves which are lightly tinted with red-pink on the undersides. It’s tolerant of wind and coastal conditions and ultimately can grow into a small ‘tree’ much like other Codylines.
As with all Cordylines, ‘Peko’ requires free-draining soil in a sunny position and is ideally suited to milder gardens. It may also be grown in a container if desired; either way it requires very little attention other than snipping off any tatty leaves.
May require some protection in very cold gardens but generally pretty hardy in the UK. Will not tolerate being waterlogged.
