Introduced around 1960 by H. and D. Nissen from Wuppertal in Germany, ‘Alaska’ is a more traditional looking holly that is relatively slender, making it an excellent choice for narrow hedges. The leaves are dark green and spiny, but generally narrower and more sinuate than other species.
