Ilex aquifolium Alaska is one of the most winter hardy cultivars of the Common Holly. It is a relatively small and slender variety of holly which makes it very suitable in narrow hedges. The sharp dentate, spiny leaves are narrower, more sinuate and more dentate than those of the species.
Care:
How do you take care of an Ilex?
CareHollies need moist but well-drained, humusy soil of moderate fertility in full sun (especially for variegated plants) or partial shade. It is best to plant or move hollies in early spring. Prune in late winter or early spring if necessary.
