Lotus berthelotii is an evergreen prostrate shrub or subshrub, growing to 20 cm (7.9 in) with a creeping or trailing habit. The leaves are divided into 3-5 slender leaflets, each leaflet 1–2 cm long and 1 mm broad, densely covered with fine silvery hairs.
Lotus berthelotii forms a bushy, trailing plant that makes an exotic display in hanging baskets and containers. Although perennial, Parrot’s Beak is a tender plant which will require a minimum temperature of 11C (52F). Overwinter potted plants in a cool conservatory or frost free greenhouse.
